Congratulations to Deborah Lowndes and Deborah Warwick and good luck on the GBID work ahead. I am a Gosford resident and I really appreciate what is planned. I specifically liked your initial concept of using artists to paint murals on vacant shop fronts – I have lived in the US, Singapore, Thailand and South Africa and have seen similar approaches with spectacular results in brightening up the locality as well as engendering pride in the business folks and residents. I also look forward to your “10 favourite things” photographic initiative – what a great idea.
One initial concept for the future could be to further position Gosford as an arts community, especially attracting people from Sydney and surrounds up for the day. In summer it could be say on a monthly Sunday, with many artists located in one of our parks by the water actually painting, selling and chatting with people in a very informal way. Sausage sizzle etc would also add to the occasion. I think once it is known, it could grow rapidly and become a “Gosford event”. Anyway just an initial thought and I hope you don’t mind if I contribute more as we go along – rkbcom

Our first mural project – City Beautification Mural in Donnison Street – commenced today.
We envisage this to be completed mid December.
If you are in Gosford, why not take a peek at how it is shaping up.

Was thinking that there may be some value if Gosford positioned itself with factory outlets as yet another feature to attract tourists. I see lots of great things going on – congratulations to Deborah and the team. I also applied with my wife to be an associate member of GBID this week so hope to meet you soon

I like your idea. We have some of the best factory outlets here already. It would be good to add to them.
